New Workaround for .Mac domain publishing

I just figured out maybe the most easy way to get
Rapidweaver to work with the new .Mac user domain
feature.
Simply activate FTP in System Preferences -> Sharing. This allows to use Rapidweaver's publishing to FTP using the path "/Volumes//Web/Sites" (see screenshot below). Your iDisk has to be mounted for this to work - if the /Volumes/ folder does not contain any folder named like your .Mac account, try to access your iDisk through finder once - this should do the job.
Rapidweaver will maybe warn you that you try to access a .Mac Account using FTP ... simply confirm to publish anyway. Works without any problems including smart updates.
Be aware that you expose the FTP ports to the Internet by activating FTP-Sharing. OS X however requires login with your user account and password, so that arbitrary access is not possible.
If the /Web/ folder on your iDisk is not yet existing, you have to use iWeb once to publish an arbitrary page - the necessary folders will then be created and subsequently will stay available even when you delete the content published with iWeb.

.Mac own domain publishing with Rapidweaver - v0.01
09.08.07 15:06 published under Software
... as promised now available for download.
When Apple introduced the possibility to use own domains with .Mac a few days ago, they despitefully restricted the use of this feature to sites built with iWeb 08. However, by manually coping sites published with any other application (e.g. Rapidweaver) to the right folder on your iDisk, you can get around this restriction.
The simple application provided above automates the copying process - and only considers the changed files, which makes updating the site much more efficient (however, still not really fast due to the painfully slow access to the iDisk). Feel free to download and comment.
