I'm currently fairly excited about Cultural Historical Activity Theory, which seems to provide a sound foundation for whole of my research. I'm currently reading articles of Yrio Engeström and Bonnie Nardi, who both have conducted extensive research in this area (or even partly built or further developed its foundations).

Recently, I have tried to derive a set of elements necessary to externalize knowledge about work tasks and processes based on this framework. From my first impressions and some reflections against modeling approaches from organisational, human and IT background, this seems to work pretty well.
